How To Setup Canon Printer on Windows and Mac?

Method to Setup Canon Printer On Windows:



  1. First, you should download and install your printer driver through canon.com/ijsetup.
  2. After this, you should turn on your Canon printer and then check it is plugged in properly with the power switch.
  3. Now, you should open the downloaded file of driver setup and then tap on Next option and then choose “Wireless Setup”.
  4. When you select the wireless option, then go to your Canon printer screen and then hit on Wi-Fi setup button.
  5. At this point, you should choose the device settings and then tap on OK button.
  6. Here, you should select Device Settings and then tap on LAN Settings and hit on ‘OK’ button.

  8. Check that your Wi-Fi router is turned on and then see Wi-Fi flash light blink on the printer.

  10. Here, it will ask for WPA/WEP key (Wi-Fi password). Then, enter the correct password and tap on ‘OK’ button.
  11. After some time, your printer will connect to Wi-Fi network.

Check your printer is added on your Windows system:

  1. For this, you should go to the ‘control panel’ and then select ‘device and printer’ option.
  2. After this, check that your printer is there on the next screen with a green check mark. If in case it is not there, then you should manually add on just by clicking on ‘Add printer’ option.
  3. Here, you will view the list of all available printers on screen. You should choose your Canon printer from here.

  4. Here, you need to tap on the printer shaped icon i.e. “Printers and scanners” from the System preferences window.
  5. Next, tap on the “+” sign which is there at the bottom left side of the screen.
  6. Then, you will view your printer’s name in the left-side, if it is connected to the network. Tap on it, just to start the setup procedure.
